Life Insurance for Breast Cancer Survivors

A couple of years ago, one life insurance company updated its guidelines to cover women who have survived breast cancer, including policies at standard rates for survivors who meet age, treatment, and diagnostic qualifications. A few other insurers followed suit, recognizing that early breast cancer detection and treatment can help women lead long lives post-treatment.

The first company, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, explained its new policy by expressing its confidence in the progress made in breast cancer treatment. As you can imagine, whenever someone had a history of cancer in their family, or survived cancer themselves, buying life insurance was virtually impossible. Insurance companies have seen positive statistics among breast cancer survivors and are starting to change their policies in their favor. Although not all survivors will find a cheap life insurance quote, being able to get it at all is a step in the right direction.
